I am a gastroenterologist and I offer medical services for adults in digestive diseases, hepatology and endoscopy.
I was born and live in Barcelona. I studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona and graduated in 1991. I especialized in gastroenterology and hepathology taking my residency (M.I.R.) at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona and I obtained the official title of specialist in 1996. I completed my training in the Hepatic Hemodynamics Unit of the same hospital until 1998. I obtained the title of Doctor of Medicine and Surgery with Outstanding Cum Laude in 2006.
During my professional career, 1999-2014, I have worked as a gastroenterologist in different hospitals. I would like to highlight three: Mollet Hospital, Granollers Hospital and Viladecans Hospital. In these hospitals I have consistently developed my skills as a practicing doctor in the different areas : hospitalization, endoscopy, out-patient clinics and day hospital among others.
In 2007, I moved to Canada, for 1 year, in a trainee fellowship with Dr. N. Marcon at the Endoscopy Unit of Saint Michael's Hospital in Toronto (Canada), this experience brought me both medical and human knowledge.
While I worked at the Viladecans Hospital, I was the principal investigator of FIS, a competitive research national grant . Together with other hospitals in Spain, we carried out a research study on gastric cancer, which has involved several international publications and personal gratification. I also led a medical team focused on the patient with liver disease in the community area, developing a care networkwith the help of colleagues, family doctors and nurses.
In addition, I would like to highlight my participation as a Board Member of the Catalan Gastroenterology Society (2013-2017). This was a working time with other gastroenterologists that I remember with affection.
In 2015, I joined the Hospital Universitari Sagrat Cor, QuirónSalud. This university teaching hospital is located on the heart of the eixample, a central district Barcelona. Since 2017, I am the Head of the Digestive Service and I am responsible for healthcare tasks and hospital management. I like to incorporate innovative tools such as Lean systems of organization, emotional ecology and ICT (information and communication technologies) applied to medicine to improve health care in my environment.
Concerned about the health of the people I try to make my work as a doctor a continuous improvement.
